This is a course for those who already
have some experience in process service. Its purpose is
to enhance your knowledge base, and improve techniques.
It is intended to give you, the student -

process out of today's Texas courts;
2) an in-depth look at the Texas Rules
of Civil Procedure that pertain to the profession;
3) an analysis of federal and state laws
and court decisions that affect the service of legal papers;
4) practical applications through the
use of innovative techniques.
The course is broken down into six modules:
module 1 - Review of the Fundamentals
module 2 - Texas law: statutes and
codes analyzed
module 3 - Federal law: rules, statutes
and codes analyzed
module 4 - Case Law
module 5 - Innovative Techniques
module 6 - Practical Application
How is the course administered?
This course is available only at PS-Academy.org.
A student must enroll, pay the course tuition, and log in
each time he or she continues with the course. The student
is not allowed to download or print any section of the course,
or any test or exam. The student has 14-days within which
to take the entire course and pass the final exam. Each
module is given in the order shown above, and the student
can proceed at his or her own pace. An average person could
take the entire course during a single uninterrupted session
of 6-hours.
How will I be tested?
Each of the seven modules ends with a short
test that consists of five questions (multiple choice, and
true & false). The student must correctly answer 4 of
the 5 questions before being able to move on to the next
module. If the student does not answer 4 questions correctly,
he or she will be given an opportunity to go back and review
the contents of that section, and take the test again. You
will be given a total of two chances to obtain a PASS score
for each module. The student must pass 5 modules out of
7 before being permitted to take the Final Exam. If the
student does not pass 5 modules, a FAIL score is given,
and no certificate of completion is bestowed. When the student
has completed taking tests in all seven modules, and has
received a PASS in 5 of them, then the Final Exam is administered.
The Final Exam consists of 50 questions (multiple choice,
and true & false). If a student receives PASS score
in all 7 tests, he or she must achieve a minimum score of
70% on the Final Exam to PASS the course. If a student
receives a PASS in only 6 sections, he or she must achieve
a minimum score of 75% on the Final Exam to PASS the course.
If the student receives a PASS in only 5 sections, he or
she must achieve a score of 80% on the Final Exam to PASS
the course. If the student receives a FAIL score in
the Final Exam, he or she will be given an opportunity to
go back and review the entire course, after which the questions
missed in the Final Exam will be given again. You will have
two chances to review the entire course and take the Final
Exam in order to achieve a PASS score. All of this must
be done within the 14-day time limit.
Do I need to take the whole course at one
time?
No. A student can take the course at
his or her own pace, logging on or off at any time. As long
as you complete the course, and PASS the Final Exam within
14-days after signing up, you're on your own.
What is the time limit to take the course?
You'll have 14-days to take the entire
course, after which time the course time limit will expire. All
modules of the course must be taken, all tests must be taken,
and the final exam must be passed within that 14-day period
of time. If the student does not finish all the requirements
within that time limit, the course will "end",
and no score will be given. The student is assumed to have
dropped the course without just cause.
Is a "student record" kept by
PS-Academy?
Information pertaining to the status
of each course a student signs up for will be included in
the student's permanent record at PS-Academy, although it
will not be available for review by any other authority.
It is for your records only, as well as to help us audit
our internal procedures. Once you take the course and successfully
PASS it, that information will be noted in your permanent
